By using Pilo, you agree to these terms. Please read them.
Who can use it
Pilo is rated 4+ and is suitable for all audiences. It requires an iPhone running iOS 16 or later.
What you need for it to work
Pilo controls TVs over WiFi, not infrared. Your iPhone and your TV must be on the same network, the TV must be reachable, and you must allow the Local Network permission when iOS asks. Some TVs also need network control enabled in their own settings, and Samsung and LG sets ask you to approve the connection on-screen the first time.
Not affiliated with any TV manufacturer
Pilo is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Roku, Samsung, LG, or any other manufacturer, and those names are used only to describe which TVs it works with. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Compatibility is best-effort
Pilo talks to each brand's public network protocol. Manufacturers change firmware, and which buttons a given model accepts varies, so we can't guarantee that every feature works on every TV. If your TV isn't behaving, get in touch before leaving a review — we'd rather fix it.
Free tier and Pilo Pro
The basic remote — power, D-pad and OK, volume, mute, channel, the number pad, play/pause, back, home, and menu, for one saved TV — is free and stays free. Pilo Pro unlocks the touchpad, the phone keyboard, app shortcuts, the advanced transport keys, and unlimited saved TVs.
Subscriptions and purchases
Pilo Pro is available weekly at $4.99, yearly at $29.99 with a 3-day free trial, or as a $59.99 one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; manage or cancel anytime in App Store Settings on your device. All payments are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled under Apple's policies. Restore Purchases in Settings brings a purchase back on a new device.
Changes to the app
We may add, remove, or update supported brands and features over time. If we make material changes to these terms or how the app works, we'll communicate them in-app.
