Pilo is a remote control, not a data business. There is no account, no sign-up, and nothing about your TV or your viewing leaves your home network. Here are the details.
No personal data collected
The app never asks for your name, email, or any other personal information. There is no sign-up and no account to create.
Your TVs stay on your device
The TVs you save — their name, brand, local IP and MAC address, and any room label you give them — are stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone, and go away when you delete the app. Pairing tokens issued by Samsung and LG TVs are held in the iOS Keychain, marked device-only so they are never synced to iCloud or any other device. None of it is uploaded anywhere.
Local Network permission
iOS asks for Local Network access so Pilo can discover TVs on your WiFi and send them commands. That is the only thing the permission is used for. Every button press travels directly from your phone to your TV over your own network — it does not pass through any server we run, and we never see which TV you own or what you watch.
No analytics
The shipping app contains no analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDK. No usage events and no advertising identifiers are collected. Besides your TV, the only service the app talks to is the purchase handling described below.
No advertising
There are no ads in Pilo. No data is shared with ad networks, and nothing is used to profile you across other apps or websites.
Payments
Pilo Pro purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. To keep your purchase working across reinstalls, subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, which stores your purchase history against an anonymous ID it generates. That ID is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, we'll update this page and revise the effective date above.
